Darryl Steinberg COUNSEL

Darryl Steinberg is a highly experienced tax lawyer and M&A advisor with significant M&A tax structuring experience. Darryl previously served as Head of Global Tax at Hudson River Trading, an algorithmic high-frequency trading company based in New York. Prior to Hudson River Trading, Darryl was Head of the Transactional Tax Practice at FTI Consulting, providing tax due diligence, M&A tax structuring and tax modeling advice as well as general tax advisory services to companies in a wide range of industries. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Darryl was Head of Global Tax Counsel at Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc., responsible for all aspects of the company’s global tax planning initiatives. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Darryl worked at Merrill Lynch & Co. as a Senior Tax Attorney, both in New York and London, where he was responsible for providing tax advisory and planning services to Merrill’s business units and Corporate Finance division. Darryl started his tax career at Deloitte, based in New York, as a member of the firm’s Private Equity/Investment Management US tax group. In addition, for the past 20 years Darryl has served as an Adjunct Tax Professor at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, teaching a variety of graduate-level tax courses. Darryl is a frequent speaker at industry and academic engagements on legal and tax matters.
